Fold an 11"x17" sheet for automation?

Following is step-by-step example of the "correct" way to fold an 11"x17" sheet to be automation compatible. When the open edge occurs at the top of the self-mailer, only one tab closure is required. By designing your newsletters in the format, you can save approximately $.05 per piece on postage. Our folding equipment can make both folds in a single pass, saving you additional time and money on your next project.

Step 1

Looking at the address panel, fold right side of sheet behind left side. Final size will now be 8.5" tall by 11" wide.

Step 2

Looking at the address panel, fold the bottom half behind top panel. Final size should now measure 8.5" wide by 5.5" tall.

Step 3

After both folds are made, mailpiece should measure 8.5" by 5.5" and have closed (folded) edges on the right side and bottom edge, when looking at the address panel.

Step 4

We will apply a tab closure and barcode to the final mailpiece. Here, it is automation compatible, saving you approximately $.05 per piece in postage.
